Institutional Statement

Madrid Bullfighting is a long-standing cultural program created more than 25 years ago with the objective of facilitating access to Spain’s bullfighting tradition for international visitors to Madrid. The initiative was originally launched by the Community of Madrid as part of its strategy to promote the city’s cultural heritage and improve the accessibility of cultural offerings for foreign audiences.

Since its inception, Madrid Bullfighting has played a sustained role in the international promotion of Madrid as a cultural destination, supporting thousands of visitors in their discovery of the city’s traditions, history, and artistic expressions. The program approaches bullfighting not as an isolated event, but as an integral element of Madrid’s historical and cultural identity.

Beyond ticket facilitation, the initiative provides structured, multilingual information and curated recommendations on cultural activities officially recognized as being of interest by the Community of Madrid. These include traditional performances, heritage visits, and cultural experiences that reflect the city’s historical continuity and social traditions. Depending on the season, visitors may also benefit from preferential conditions or discounts on selected cultural activities endorsed by the regional authorities.
